Uboho Inyang

Uboho is an Associate in the Firm’s Energy Practice Group. He holds a master’s degree in International Energy Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2015. Before joining the Firm, Uboho worked in law firms in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria. Below are some of the energy-related matters/transactions he has been involved in:


  • An active part of the team that obtained a landmark injunction against a foreign arbitral proceeding in a dispute over an assignment of participating interests in an Oil Mining Lease worth over $453,000,000 (Four Hundred and Fifty Million Dollars)


  • An active member of the team that successfully defended a party to a JOA at the Federal High Court in Nigeria against the foreclosure of its participating interest under the JOA by the other joint operating parties over disputed cash calls for the operation of an Oil Mining Lease (OML).


  • Part of the team that advised an international oil services company on its proposed establishment of an oil services company in Nigeria.


  • An active part of the team that reviewed and advised a Joint Venture on the Financing and Technical Services Agreement (FTSA) Term Sheet Template for the funding, exploration and further development and production of hydrocarbons in an Oil Mining Lease in Nigeria operated by the JV.


  • An active part of the team that provided regulatory advisory services to an indigenous oil and gas company in the proposed acquisition of a collection of oil and gas assets in Nigeria.

In addition to his ENR background, Uboho is a certified anti-money laundering specialist and holds a master’s degree in Business Law, Taxation Law, and Compliance from Cergy-Pontoise University, France, where he graduated as a co-valedictorian in his graduating class.
